First Christian Church will host its Annual Swing into Spring Fundraiser for Reimers Auditorium on Sunday, March 22, featuring Swing 101 Big Band in concert in Reimers Auditorium as well as a popular silent auction. Doors will open at 2:30, music begins at 3:00.

On Thursday evening, Jeff Dow’s Lady Lion basketball team hit the road on a twogame winning streak when they battled with the Southland’s other Lady Lions, East Texas A&M. A decisive fourth quarter for the home team led to a 66-57 loss for SLU.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) has arrested an Independence man for having an inappropriate relationship with a teenager.Chad Basso, 47, was booked on Thursday, February 5, on one count of Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile.
