Gardenettes Announce New President

Susan Pizani has been elected president of the Gardenettes, a Ponchatoula garden club. She succeeds Vicky Fannaly in the position.

April Garden of the Month

Virginia Hawkins, Hoffman Road, received Garden of the Month honors for April. Presentation by Margaret Hawkins and Vicky Fannaly for the Gardenettes, a Ponchatoula garden club, was made on April 10.Hawkins holds membership in Belle Oaks Garden Club (Hammond) and Gardenettes.

Garden Revisited

Gardenettes visited the gardens of the late Pam Byers, a past Garden of the Month winner, to view the flowers she worked so hard to nurture before her sudden passing recently. Her husband, Jimmy Byers, says Pam’s blossoms echoed her enthusiasm for beautifying her surroundings.

Rene Roussel, Roussel’s Fine Jewelry and Gifts, 177 W. Pine St., accepted the Genesis Award for commercial displays from the Gardenettes.“Roussel’s was selected for helping maintain the beauty of downtown Ponchatoula.

New Director Shares Vision for Twin Steeples

Twin Steeples Creative Arts Center welcomes its new executive director, Leyla Hekmatdoost of Covington, into Ponchatoula's creative community. Since former director Josh Duncan left the arts center in January, the non-profit organization had been looking for the right candidate to take his place.
