Earlier in 2024, five Constitutional Amendments were passed by Louisiana lawmakers in the regular legislative session. These amendments must now be approved by a simple majority of registered voters to become effective. One Amendment was promoted to law by voters in the November 5 election.

We entered week two of the LHSAA Football playoffs with four area teams still having hopes for a state title. Opening round wins by Amite, Kentwood and Loranger, as well as a first-round bye for Sumner, had the quartet in action on Friday, in search of a trip to the State Quarterfinals.
