Tangipahoa School Board Extends Superintendent’s Contract

The Tangipahoa Parish School Board voted on Tuesday night to extend the contract of Superintendent of Schools Melissa Stilley until January 2027. Stilley, whose contract is due for renewal in June, requested the extension at the conclusion of her State of the School System Update to the Board.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) is asking for the public’s help in its investigation of a drive-by shooting over the weekend that killed a teenager.Around 2am on Sunday, Feb. 22, TPSO received reports of shots fired on the I-55 northbound entrance ramp at University Avenue.

Ladies Who Sew

Wednesday Volunteers for Family and Community (WVFC) sewing group met at the home of Susan Melancon to make baby burp pads.The sew group made a total of 50, then in the fall, they will make another 50, fulfilling their target of 100 to be made yearly.
