Hammond Garden Club Celebrates Last 2025 Meeting

Could it possibly be the end of 2025 already? Is it almost time to put all the presents under the tree and milk and cookies out for Santa? And so it is true, almost time to sing “Auld Lang Syne” for old times’ sake to bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new one!

Captain Ron Whittaker Sr., Louisiana State Police, gave personal safety skill tips to the Gardenettes at their January 14 meeting held at the Strawberry Board Building in Memorial Park. Whittaker addressed the members’ personal concerns following his presentation.

Ponchatoula American Legion Post 47 will raise and lower flags in the Ponchatoula Cemetery for MLK Day this coming Monday, January 19. Flag Raising at 8AM; Lowering at 5PM. Lowering is a new time, as it should still be daylight at 5PM.
