The Tangipahoa Parish Rural Fire District #2 Board has elected District 1 Parish Councilman Darrell Sinagra as their Chairman for 2026. Louis 'Nick' Joseph of Council District 3 has been elected to serve as the Vice-Chair for the Fire Board in 2026.  The Fire Board meetings are held the fourth Monday of each month at the conclusion of the Tangipahoa Parish Council meeting, which begins at 5:30pm. The public is welcome to attend or watch online via the TPG website.

The Royal Ball for Omega XL was held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, in the old Holy Ghost Catholic Church on N. Oak Street in Hammond. The beautiful chapel was built at the turn of the 20th century and dedicated on November 23, 1902.
