Gardenette Mary Hirsch presented Floriography: The Secret Symbolism of Flowers at the garden club’s November 12 meeting held at the Strawberry Board Building in Memorial Park. Hirsch gave the history of using flowers to communicate secrets by color and selection of flower type.

LSP Investigating TPSO Deputy Involved Shooting

On November 11, 2025, at approximately 6:40pm, detectives with the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations were requested by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office to investigate a deputy-involved shooting that occurred on Waltrip Lane near LA Hwy 442 in Tickfaw.

Oh Deer!

One of the most common wild critters we may spot in our area are white tailed deer. I’m sure almost everyone local has seen at least one. I had the honor of seeing three of them in my own backyard shortly after midnight a few nights ago, one of which was a young fawn.
