At 95 years of age, His good and faithful servant, Lois Harrison Hoover, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024, at Keval Exquisite Care, LLC, in Deerfield Beach, FL. Lois was born in New Orleans, LA, on February 17, 1929. Lois was preceded in death by the love of her life, James Perry Hoover, whom she married on September 3, 1950, in New Orleans, LA. They also resided in Baton Rouge, LA. She is survived by her son, Byron James Hoover (Colleen Early Hoover); daughter, Patricia Hoover Dicharry (Daniel Louis Dicharry); seven adored grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Lois is survived by her brother, Paul Harrison, and sister, Mary Ann Harrison Waguespack Trevett. Lois was preceded in death and reunited with her daughter, Mary Ellen Hoover Treadaway, and son-in-law, Clifford Treadaway. She was also preceded in death by her parents, James Harrison and Dorothy Navo Harrison; brothers, James and Benjamin Harrison; sisters, Lorraine Harrison Pentes and Elizabeth (Betty) Harrison Cutrera; and newborn sister, baptized Dorothy.
Lois graduated from St. Joseph High School in New Orleans, LA, in 1946. She was dedicated to her faith as a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula, LA. The family wishes to thank all those who touched her life!
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27, from 11:30am until 1:00pm at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 North Morrison Blvd. Hammond LA. 70401. Following the visitation, Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 255 N 8th St., Ponchatoula, LA, at 1:30pm. Rev. Paul McDuffie will officiate. Interment will follow at Arnold Family Cemetery, Airport Rd, Hammond, LA. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 28105, or St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Joseph Catholic Church, P.O.
