Jeanette Thompson Davis, a long-time resident of Ponchatoula, LA, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loving family, on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the age of 93. She was born on October 3, 1930, in Folsom, LA, to the late David and Geneva Willie Thompson.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Hollis Edward Davis; seven brothers, Guy, Alvin, Virgil, Hezzie, Elzie, Emmett, Huey Thompson; and one sister, Mavis.
Jeanette is survived by her children, Jeffrey Edward Davis, Timothy Patrick Davis (Carolyn Smith Davis), Beverly Ann Davis Dorvin, and Henry Paul Davis; five grandchildren, Patrick Davis (Shannon), Daniel Davis (Kristin), Eddie Dorvin (Lauren), Tommy Dorvin, and Sarah Dorvin; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Jeanette was the perfect example of a strong and kind southern gentlewoman. She was a caring mother and wife, a woman of faith, a loving grandmother and great grandmother, and a dear friend to many. She will always be remembered for her artistry in quilting and needlework.
