Bertha J. Dominguez went to her heavenly home on Monday, May 19, 2025. She was born May 1, 1925, and recently celebrated her 100th birthday, surrounded by her loving family and dear friends. Bertha was a native of Springfield, Louisiana and a longtime resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
Bertha was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula and served on the Rosary Altar Society. After Bertha retired from Ponchatoula City Hall, she served her community by volunteering for over 15 years at North Oaks Medical Center. During her service at North Oaks, she was once voted Volunteer of the Year. She was a longtime member of the VFW and held an office. She also enjoyed being a member of the Ponchatoula Community Garden Club and was secretary from 19941996.
Bertha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend; to know her was to love her. She enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, fishing, cooking, dancing, shopping with her sister-in-law Louise Threeton and most of all, being with her family. She will be forever loved and missed.
Bertha is survived by sons, Larry Dominguez (Pam), Glenn Dominguez (Brenda); grandchildren, Julie (Brad), Kerry, Darrell, Amy; great-grandchildren, Brittany (Hunter), Joshua (Kym), Kayla, Brayden and Darrion and great-great granddaughter, Harper Leigh.
Bertha was preceded in death by her husband of over 75 years, Lawrence “Dude” Dominguez, the love of her life; her parents, John and Katie Threeton; brothers, Wilson Threeton, Raymond Threeton and Ronald “Bucky” Threeton; sisters, Nadine Bankston and Winnie Kemp.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, Saturday, May 24, 2025. Visitation will begin at 9:00am, followed by the rosary at 11:15am. Services will begin at 11:30am, officiated by Deacon Larrry Melancon. Interment will follow at the Ponchatoula Cemetery.
