The Tangipahoa Parish School System (TPSS) is now accepting applications for the following:
POSITION: Mechanic Helper (12 Months) (2 Positions)
SALARY: $37,730 - $54,315
Based on verified years of relevant experience
LOCATION: Central Office – Fleet Service
Amite, LA
CRITERIA: Required:
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum three (3) years of experience performing maintenance on buses and
medium and/or heavy-duty vehicles required.
• Possess valid Commercial Driver's License- Class B (endorsements for
passenger school bus, and air brake restriction removed) or be able to obtain
it within 6 months of hire.
• Operating knowledge of special diagnostic testing equipment with strong
diagnostic skills
• Satisfactorily participate and pass all FMCSA/DOT/ employer mandates
drug/alcohol testing and CDL physical examinations.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations as they apply to student
transportation and vehicle maintenance.
• Willing to work flexible hours, extended hours, or perform weekend work as
needed.
• Computer experience
