Monthly Council Meeting Minutes

The Village of Tickfaw Council met in a monthly meeting at 5:00pm on March 10,

2026. Mayor Lamonte called the meeting to order, Councilman Galofaro, Councilman

Fedele, Councilman Lemay, Chief DiBenedetto all were present. Attorney Trippi was

not in attendance. All present received and reviewed the monthly financial statements.

The invocation was done by Mayor Lamonte followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

- Alissa Galofaro

- Planning and Zoning recommended approval of double

wide mobile home on 1 acre of land inside city limits.

- Motion to approve application made by Fedele 2nd Lemay

9. Old Business-

a) Update on Love’s Truck Stop / Jamie Watson

-Mayor will have a possible update at the April Council meeting.

10. New Business-

a) Pay Increase for Municipal Clerk

- Motion to set for Public Hearing on April 14, 2026, at 4:45

made by Galofaro

b) Make decision about placing posters back in courtroom/ meeting

room.

- Motion made to not put Posters/Pictures back on the

Meeting room walls by Galofaro 2nd Fedele Votes (3)

c) Jimmy Sparacello – Announcement

Mr. Sparacello made the announcement that he will run

in the next Mayoral race and his campaign plans.

11. Mayor Report.

- Mayor Lamonte announced that after 32 years in office,

he will be retiring and will not run in the next Mayoral

race.

- Water line on Hwy 442 from Mill St. to Hwy 51 are com-

pleted and waiting on state approval.

- A fire hydrant was added on Hwy 442 near Nesom

house.

- Grass cutting and Mosquito Spaying will begin soon.

- El Ranchito is in the process of getting their sewer sys-

tem set up and we are working on getting a contract and

price for treating their sewer.

- Mayor Lamonte stated that we are currently working on

$700,000.00 worth of Grants for the 2027 Fiscal Year.

12. Police Chief Report

- Police Chief DiBenedetto spoke about how Tickfaw Po-

lice Dept. assisted with locating a 15-year-old runaway.

- Reminder of Scillian Festival and St. Joseph Alter this

weekend

- Thanked Mayor Lamonte for the time they served to-

gether.

- Absent

- All Council members spoke on how it was an honor to

serve on Mayor Lamonte council and thanked him for his

years of service.
