PUBLIC NOTICE
In accordance with the Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure 228.3, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office will seek approval from the 21st Judicial District Courts to dispose of unclaimed property that was lost, stolen, seized, or relinquished during investigations. Unless claimed by the owner by April 1st, 2026, the property will be disposed of according to Louisiana law. If the owner is/was known, a certified letter was mailed to the last known owner at their last known address.

To claim property, you can contact TPSO at 985-902-2026 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am to 4pm to set up an appointment. You must bring a valid ID, and either the certified letter, proof of ownership, or a copy of a police report where the item was documented as lost or stolen. You must have the serial number or proof of any identifying information to claim.
