Minutes for a special meeting called by the Board of Commissioners of Gravity drain-
age District No. 4 of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at
Amite City Hall in Amite, Louisiana.
The Board of Commissioners of Gravity Drainage District No. 4 met on the above date
and was called to order by the president, Mrs. Lori B. Petitto, at 4:30 o’clock with the
following members present:
Present: Lori B. Petitto, Lafete Tucker, James C. Ricks, Lionel Sutton
Absent: Kyle Warren
The president then called on Mr. Tucker to voice the invocation and pledge.
The roll showed a quorum to be present.
In attendance: Calvin Graham, LaDarius Gordon, Dedrick Briggs, Reginald Muse,
Louis Joseph, Michael Petitto, Sr.
Discussion was held about changes that need to be considered concerning the
contract labor crew. LaDarius Gordon brought to the president’s, Mrs. Lori B. Petitto’s,
attention that crew worker, Mr. Reginald Muse had missed days of work with no call
no show. However, Mr. Muse stated that a doctor’s note had been previously texted to
Mr. Gordon. Mr. Gordon did eventually receive the note, and it was presented at the
meeting, but no mention of the note was acknowledged neither from Mr. Gordon nor
Mr. Muse to the board previously. The doctor’s note stated that Mr. Muse needed to
be placed on temporary light-duty work restrictions, for approximately 4 – 6 weeks, to
support recovery from intermittent abdominal pain from a previous hernia repair. The
doctor’s note provided was not dated. Mr. Muse will present to Mr. Gordon and to the
board an updated note with the designated dates, as well as present a letter from his
doctor stating when he is clear of these restrictions and can return to work fully ca-
pable of managing the daily responsibilities of the job. The board has agreed that Mr.
Muse should not work at all under such restrictions until a letter is received. Mr. Muse
understands that he will not receive payment while he is not working. Upon receiv-
ing an updated and supportable letter from his physician and the time of restrictions
having passed, Mr. Muse will be allowed to begin working again. Mr. Louis Joseph
instructed the secretary to submit a copy of the current doctor’s note to the parish
attorney, Mr. Brad Cascio, to review and have on file.
No further business appearing, on motion by Mr. Tucker duly seconded by Mr. Sutton
and unanimously carried, the board adjourned.
Lori B. Petitto, President
