Chris James Chiasson, a resident of Ponchatoula, LA, peacefully joined his creator on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. He was born on July 4, 1968, in Marrero, LA, to Loretta Breaux and the late Rudy Chiasson.
Chris loved competing and riding horses, raising fighting roosters and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an exemplary nurse who had dedicated his life to the nursing profession.
Chris is survived by his loving wife, Janett Cañada; mother, Loretta Breaux; mother-in-law, Luzviminda Cañada; brothers, Blake (wife Dawn); Scott (partner Jayne); brothers-in-law, Sylvano and wife Berlyn; Odie and wife Gie; Luzvir and wife Geleen; sisters-in-law, Emelia and Monena (husband Jonel); nephews and nieces, Blake Jr. (wife Krista); Scott Jr. (partner Ashley), Kaitlyn, Kourtney, Aidan and numerous other nephews and nieces in the US and the Philippines.
He was preceded in death by his father Rudy Chiasson and father-inlaw Virgilio Cañada.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation Friday, June 7, 2024, held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St, Ponchatoula, LA 70454, from 5:00pm-10:00pm. Visitation will continue Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 9:30am until services begin at 11:00am.
Interment will follow at Rosaryville Cemetery.
