Lloyd W. Kinchen was born April 28, 1938, in Mobile, AL, to the late Vernon and Cora Davis Kinchen. He passed away November 15, 2024, in Hammond, LA, at the age of 86. Lloyd was a longtime well-known restaurateur having owned and operated The Club in Baton Rouge, LA, Boggie’s in Hammond, and The Caboose, with locations at various times in Independence, Hammond, and McComb, MS. He enjoyed boating, cooking in his home and his businesses, and was an avid golfer. Many in the community knew him as “Uncle Lloyd.”

He is survived by his wife, Dione Morgan Kinchen; son, Austin Bankston; siblings, Louise “Bushy” O’Sullivan, Vernon Kinchen, Jr. (Glenda), Jerry Kinchen (Carol), Marvin Kinchen, Carter Kinchen (Barbara), and Frankie Lee Kinchen; his grandson, Aidan Bankston; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lloyd is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Kinchen; and a sister, Vera Kinchen Bennett.

Visitation will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until memorial services at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation, 1109 Chestnut Street, Hammond, LA 70403.
