Stuart Raymond Kennedy

Stuart Raymond Kennedy, age 67, native of Zachary and resident of Ponchatoula, passed away on April 2, 2025. Born in Baton Rouge on May 22, 1957, he was the third child of the late Stuart Rollins Kennedy and Teresa Martini Kennedy.

His jobs and travels took him to California, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, New York, Mexico, and the Phillipines. He was an excellent golfer and enjoyed teaching his family members how to play. He loved BBQing chicken on his Big Green Egg and enjoyed watching old movies in which he could name all the actors and their life histories. He was an avid reader who spent many hours in the Ponchatoula Branch Library. He also volunteered at the Ponchatoula Senior Center, where he helped with lunch.

Raymond is survived by his mother, Teresa Martini Kennedy (Thibodaux); sisters, Paula Shows (Milton) of Thibodaux, Ruth Rabalais (Gordon) of Arnaudville, and Mary Teresa Tournillon (Michael) of Ponchatoula; and one brother, Marty Kennedy of Zachary. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Matthew Rabalais (Ariel), Sara Rabalais (Trey), Austin Rabalais, Erin Gill (Justin), Emily Tournillon (Derek), Stuart Tournillon (Whitney), Adam Tournillon (Alicia), Ian Shows (Sarah), Mia Shows (Carlos), and Amy Shows-Monier (Chris);11 great nieces and nephews; and best friend, Kim McKowen of Zachary.

He is preceded in death by his father, Stuart Rollins Kennedy, beloved grandmother, Emma R. Kennedy, grandfather, H.W. Kennedy, Sr., and great uncle, Frank S. Rollins.

A Mass of Christian burial is being held for close family and friends. Interment will follow at Azalea Rest Cemetery, Zachary, La.

Dewey Steven LeJeune, 63; Hammond; April 4; survived by his sisters, Denise Owens (Gerald, Jr.) and Kaye Self; niece, Angela Daniel (Jason); nephews, Gerald “Trey” Owens, III (Brandie) and Sean Owens (Lindsey); and six great nieces and nephews.

 

William “Wild Bill’ Ashley Traylor; 60; Pumpkin Center; April 4; survived by his daughters, Ashley Allbritton (Kenneth), Destini Traylor (Ryan), and Sophie Weedman; grandchildren, Ayden, J’Siah, Z’Kiah, and Rune; sister, Linda Cummings; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Gloria Coslan; and close friend, Timmy Olah (Connie).
 

Antonyo “Tony” Joseph Famularo; 42; Kentwood; April 5; survived by his mother, Les Lee Famularo Beach; stepfather, Ken Beach; fiancée, Joniele Fairburn; her son, Isaiah Fairburn; and many family members and friends.
 

Annie Palmer Starkey; 87; Pumpkin Center; April 6; survived by her children, Cheryl Anderson, Cathy Thompson, and Chad Starkey; grandchildren, Jerrica Saltaformaggio and James Thompson; great-grandchildren, Darien, Dylan, and Levi; and many family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
 

Thelma Grace Rouse Brumfield; 91; April 6; survived by her daughter, Debra B Lala; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
