Vera Elsie Breckwoldt Acosta
Vera Elsie Breckwoldt Acosta was born August 10, 1936, in Hammond, LA, to the late Frederick John Breckwoldt and Zena Bennett Breckwoldt. She passed away June 7, 2025, at her home in Ponchatoula.
Vera is survived by her son, John Joseph Acosta; daughter in law, Tina Marie Acosta; sister, Irma Vining; and two granddaughters, Savannah Acosta and Shana Acosta.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Harry Acosta; brother, F.J. Breckwoldt; and sister, Eleanor Bahm.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 1:00pm at Bankston Cemetery, Hammond, LA. Special thanks to Vera’s caregivers, Susan Smith and James Snowden.

Ted Normand Bennett; 95; Ponchatoula; June 5; survived by his daughter, Joy Dupont; grandchildren, Matthew and Christina Dupont; and great-grandchild, Christopher Dupont.
