IRMA LEE KOERIN SMITH

Irma Lee, age 84, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was a lifetime resident of Ponchatoula, LA.

Irma dedicated her life to caring for her family and took great pride in everything she did. She kept her house spotless and her yard perfect all the way to the very end.

Irma was an extremely strong woman and fiercely outspoken. She was unapologetically herself and always spoke her mind. Irma had an open-door policy and took on the role of caregiver for many. She was a mother and grandmother to anyone who needed it. Irma adored her grandbabies and held the title of Maw Maw with pride. She was an incredible woman who left her family with countless wonderful memories and will be forever missed.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Cooter Smith; daughter, Rhonda Sheridan (Mike); son, Laton Smith Jr. (Michelle); grandchildren, Kyle Michael Sheridan (Chloe), Hayley Smith; great-grandchildren, Vera Jo Sheridan and Elijah “Eli” Thomas Sheridan; special nephew, Kirtney James Koerin (Ann Marie); and dearest friends, Pat Chavers Ory and Sondra Sturdivant.

Irma was preceded in death by her daughters, Patricia Ann Smith and Debbie Jolane Smith; parents, Beaulah Young and Albert Koerin Sr.; brothers, Lawrence “Penny” Koerin, Albert Frank Koerin Jr., and Johnny Koerin; and godparents, George and Germaine Briant.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the graveside service at Wadesboro Catholic Cemetery in Ponchatoula, LA, on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.

Lessie Marie Arnone; 66; Ponchatoula; September 11; survived by her loving husband, Anthony Arnone Sr.; children, Anthony Arnone Jr. (Ashley) and Amber Smith (Mike); grandchildren, Ian, Emily, Brennan, Claire, McKayla, and Luke; and great-granddaughter, Nova Rose.

David Ramsey; 77; Hammond; September 11; survived by his wife, Birgitta; son, Carl (Jennifer); daughter, Anna; and grandchildren, Natali, Matthew, Madison, and Isabella.

Jeffery Scott Kea; 64; Ponchatoula; September 12; survived by his brother, Vincent Kea (Kim Kea). Jeffery was a cherished husband to his devoted wife, Lisa Kea, and a proud father to three children: Jordan (Sean), Laura (Christopher), and Sklyar (Brandi). He was also a loving grandfather to six grandchildren.
