Public Meeting Minutes

A public meeting was held at the Village of Tangipahoa City Hall
located at 12616 Jackson Street, Tangipahoa, LA 70465 on July
8, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. Alderwoman Pamela Bean, Alderman Willis
Smith, and Aldermen Rodriguez are present. Upon motion by
Mayor Pro Tem Bean and second by Alderman Rodriguez, the
June 16, 2025, Special Meeting minutes are approved. Upon
motion by Alderwoman Bean and second by Alderman Smith, the
June 17 Regularly Scheduled Public Meeting minutes are
approved. Upon motion by Mayor Pro Tem Bean and seconded
by Alderman Smith, the June 25, 2025, Special Meeting is
approved. The minutes will be published in our official journal,
The Tangi Times. Mayor Pro Tem Bean motions to accept the
introduction of Ordinance 1 of 2025, Regular Scheduled Meeting
Amendment Ordinance, it was seconded by Alderman Smith. The
motion is carried. There will be a public hearing on August 12,
2025, at 6:45 p.m. Chief Martin informed the board that three
arrests were made in connection with a shooting that took place in
June 2025. Mr. Eslam Odeh requests an occupational license due
to the lack of documentation. Alderwoman Bean motions to
postpone the request until August 12, 2025, and Alderman Smith
seconds. Mayor Gray updated the board on the constant repairs
to our sewer system. This continues to be an ongoing issue for
the town's financial stability. The back-to-school giveaway will be
on August 2, 2025, from 11:00 am to 4:00 p.m. There are no
public comments. Alderman Smith motioned the adjournment,
and seconded by Alderman Rodriguez. The meeting is adjourned
at 7:33 p.m.
