The Village of Montpelier met in Regular session on August 10, 2026, at 7:00 PM
Present: Mayor Kenneth Giardina
Aldermen: Mike, Ard and Brad Davis
Marshall: Kelly Spinks
Absent: Alderman Kevin Washington
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kenneth Giardina.
A motion to accept the minutes for was made by Mike Ard seconded by Brad Davis. All yeas.
A motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report was made by Brad Davis seconded by Mike Ard. All yeas.
A motion to pay the bills was made by Mike Ard seconded by Brad Davis. All yeas.
A motion to request payment to Alvin Fariburn & Associates in the amount of $8,160.00 from the PHMSA grant was made by Mike Ard seconded by Brad Davis. All yeas.
A Motion to adopt a resolution to complete the Louisiana Compliance Questionnaire and forward it to Hebert & Johnson & Associates was made by Brad Davis, seconded by Mike Ard. All yeas.
A Motion to increase tickets fines by $50.00 for speeding due to the recent increase in fees paid to state agencies was made by Brad Davis seconded by Mike Ard. All yeas.
New fines will be as follows:
0-10 miles over limit $190.00
11-20 miles over limit $210.00
21-30 miles over limit $245.00
31-44 miles over limit $275.00
44 miles and over Arrest
A motion to adjourn was made by Mike Ard seconded by Brad Davis. All yeas.
