Monthly Council Meeting Minutes

The Village of Tickfaw Council met in a monthly meeting at 5:00pm on August 11,
2026. Mayor Lamonte called the meeting to order, Councilman Fedele, Councilman
Galofaro, Councilman Lemay, Chief DiBenedetto and Attorney Trippi were
present. All present received and reviewed the monthly financial statements. The
invocation was done by Mayor Lamonte followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

7. Approve the Monthly Council Meeting Minutes for July 14, 2026
- Motion to approve made by Galofaro 2 nd Fedele Votes 3
8. Approve the Budget to Actual Financials through June 2026
- Motion to approve made by Fedele 2 nd Lemay Votes 3
9. Old Business-
a) Update on Love’s Truck Stop and Jamie Watson Project
- Loves: No update yet.
- Watson: The Village is still waiting for Mr. Watson to turn in blueprints with
fire marshal’s stamp to city hall.
b) Update on Annexation for Southern Homes
- Attorney Trippi ran the title and came back clean to Woodland Estates of
Tickfaw LLC for a total of 9.42 acres. Attorney Trippi will reach out to the
voters and tax assessors office once he receives an updated property survey.
c) Letter regarding possible blighted property on Oak Street
- Motion to move to September meeting on September 8, 2026, at 5pm made by
Fedele 2 nd Galofaro Votes 3
10. New Business-
a) Representative from Tangi Water and Sewer District (Jason Hood)
- Jason Hood discussed with the council the Tangi sewer district territories,
explaining that a state law in 1985 gave the district full franchise territory.
Meaning even if annexation takes place, it will still remain the sewer district’s
territory.

11. Mayor Report
- Mayor Lamonte announced that they will replace culverts on Chris Drake and
4 th street.
- There is grant funding in place and 2 new police units have been ordered.
- The village is getting the tractor back from repair shop and weed spraying is
happening now.
- The ditches by the school are being cleaned and limbs on roadsides are being
addressed.
- DOTD is closing the exit by interstate on Hwy 442 to repair a culvert, should
take 10 days to repair.
12. Police Chief Report
- Police Chief DiBenedetto stated that Tickfaw officers will be stationed at Nesom
School every day of the school year starting Monday.
- Also, would like to ask everyone to keep Ted Amar and Family in your prayers he
was involved in a vehicle accident.
14. Attorney Report
- Attorney Trippi congratulated everyone who ran for office and won unopposed.
Also, wishes the others running good luck and hopes they get what their hearts
desire.
15. Council Response
- Galofaro: Nothing.
- Fedele: Would like to bring to Village’s attention a side road on Fedele is not being
Mosquito sprayed.
- Lemay: Nothing
