PUBLIC NOTICE

Body

The Village of Tangipahoa Mayor and the Board of Aldermen held a public hearing

meeting on August 11, 2026, at 6:00 pm in the meeting room at 12616 Jackson Street.

Mayor Gray called the meeting to order. Municipal Clerk Allicie Briggs established a

quorum. Alderman Smith, Mayor Pro Tem Bean and Alderman Rodriguez are present.

Upon motion by Alderwoman Bean and seconded by Alderman Smith the public hearing

minutes for July 14, 2026, is approved. Upon motion by Alderman Smith and seconded

by Alderwoman Bean the motion is carried to approve the public meeting minutes for

July 14, 2026. Chief Martin is absent to give updates about Tangipahoa Police

Department. Ms. Allicie Briggs the village clerk updated the board on blighted property.

We have several residents that have cleaned their property. Upon motion by

Alderwoman Bean and seconded by Alderman Smith the minute corrections for June 9,

2026, Ordinance 4 of 2026 will be corrected to Ordinance 3 of 2026. E & D Detailing is

absent. Upon motion by Alderwoman Bean and seconded by Alderman Smith the board

granted an extension of E&D Detailing Occupational license until September 8, 2026, at

the next council meeting. Mayor Gray asked the board to amend the agenda to allow

her to present the intergovernmental agreement between the Tangipahoa Sherriff’s

Office and the Village of Tangipahoa for property tax collections. Upon motion by

Alderwoman Bean and seconded by Alderman Smith the motion is carried. Upon motion

by Alderwoman Bean and seconded by Alderman Rodriguez the motion is carried to

allow Mayor Gray to sign the intergovernmental agreement with Tangipahoa Parish

Sherriff’s Office to collect the village property tax. Alderwoman Bean asked to amend

the agenda to allow her to discuss the police cars that are for surplus. Upon motion by

Alderman Smith and second by Alderman Rodriguez the agenda is amended. After

much discussion about taking the units to the scrap yard the board agrees that Chief

Martin should be given notice to remove the units. The village clerk will send Chief

Martin a notice. The units will be towed by the Village utility truck for insurance

purposes. There are no public comments. Mayor Updates: The village received $8500

from the Keep Louisiana Beautiful Beautification Grant. The Village of Tangipahoa has

an official website www.villageoftangipahoa.com. Upon motion by Alderman Smith and

seconded by Alderwoman Bean the meeting is adjourned at 6:19 p.m.
