Village of Tangipahoa City
A public meeting was held at the Village of Tangipahoa City Hall, 12616 Jackson Street,
Tangipahoa, LA 70465, on December 9, 2025, at 6:00 pm. Mayor Gray called the
meeting to order, and the Municipal Clerk Allicie Briggs established a quorum. Mayor
Pro Tem Bean, Alderman Rodriguez, and Alderman Willis Smith are present. Upon
motion by Alderwoman Bean and seconded by Alderman Smith, the motion is carried to
approve the public minutes for November 18, 2025. The Tangipahoa Police Department
had no updates to report. The board approves the Occupational, Beer, and liquor license
for
Big Boss Express. Mayor Gray submitted a resolution utilizing the Tangipahoa Parish
Building Inspector Planning Department for mobile home, residential, and commercial
construction permitting and inspections to the board. There are no public comments
from the attendees. Upon motion by Alderwoman Bean and seconded by Alderman
Smith, the motion is carried by three yays. Mayor Gray asked the board to amend
the agenda to correct the error of Resolution Number 7 of 2025, the resolution A
RESOLUTION IMPOSING A TEMPORARY MORATORIUM ON THE ISSUANCE
OF BUILDING PERMITS AND THE PLACEMENT OR RELOCATION OF MOBILE
HOMES WITHIN THE VILLAGE LIMITS; PROVIDING FOR 90-DAY DURATION; AND
PROVIDING FOR RELATED MATTERS. The correct number shall be 6 of 2025. Upon
motion by Alderwoman Bean and seconded by Alderman Smith, the motion is carried
to amend the agenda. Alderwoman Bean motions to correct the error in the resolution.
Alderman Smith seconded the motion, which was carried. During public comments,
one resident asked if our water system needs to be upgraded to handle the number of
customers that are currently on the VOT water system. Mayor Gray stated, “Currently,
our water system isn’t having issues with the number of customers. It is the Village’s
Sewer System that has some ongoing issues. Ms. D. Cyprian updated the board on the
upcoming Christmas Parade. Rev. Fuches, Pastor of Browns Chapel, will be our 2025
Grand Marshall. Mayor Gray thanked the volunteers for their roles in the Christmas
Parade. The members of the public body are dismissed. The board of aldermen will now
convene into executive session. The executive meeting ended a 7:33 pm. The board of
aldermen returned from an executive session, and upon motion by Alderwoman Bean
and seconded by Alderman Smith, the meeting was adjourned at 7:34 pm.
