Monthly Council Meeting Minutes
The Village of Tickfaw Council met in a monthly meeting at 5:00pm on
January 13, 2026. Mayor Lamonte called the meeting to order, Councilman
Galofaro, Councilman Fedele, Councilman Lemay, Chief DiBenedetto, and
Attorney Trippi all were present. All present received and reviewed the
monthly financial statements. The invocation was done by Mayor Lamonte
followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

5. Auditor Report FYE 06/30/2025
- The Auditors presented the Village’s audit findings. The Village’s C.P.A. gave
an action plan on how we will fix the findings. The Village received a good Audit
report for FYE 06/30/2025. The audit report has been submitted to the state for
approval.

-Motion to approve made by Galofaro 2 nd by Fedele votes (3)
9. Approve the Budget to Actual Financials through November 2025
- Motion to approve financials made by Fedele 2 nd by Lemay Vote (3)
10. Old Business-
a) Dorothy Lane Matter
- A motion was made to remove this from the agenda by Galofaro 2nd Fedele and
votes (3)
b) Update on Love’s Truck Stop / Jamie Watson
- Waiting on permits from the parish and getting our fire hydrants certified
c) Church on Bridge Street (Possible Blighted Property)
- Motion was made to table this matter to the next council meeting on 2/10/2026 at
5pm motion made by Galofaro 2 nd Lemay votes (3)
d) Italian Festival (Property on RR Ave)
- No representation showed for the meeting, will meet again in March 2026
11. New Business-
a) Ordinance 146 Police Chief’s Salary
- Motion made to approve Ordinance 146 made by Fedele 2 nd Galofaro votes (3)
b) Introducing Ordinance on Building Permits (Certificate of Appropriateness)
-Motion to table until next council meeting on 2/10/2026 at 5pm motion made by
Galofaro 2 nd Fedele Votes (3)
c) A motion was made to amend the agenda by Fedele 2 nd Galofaro votes (3) to
add discussion of painting the city hall
- Council had concerns about not being notified that the building was being
painted.
- Mayor’s response was that they were notified at the last council meeting with a
quote from contractor in their meeting folder.
d) A motion was made to amend the agenda to discuss Holiday Schedule for
City Hall, Hours of City Hall and Salary of all employees by Fedele 2nd

- Police Chief had two Vehicles that he would like to declare Surplus
- Motion to declare Surplus for 2009 Crown Vic last four Vin: 3687 made by

- Motion to advertise 2009 Crown Vic last 4 Vin: 3687 for $1000.00 made by
Galofaro 2 nd Lemay Votes (3)
- Motion to declare surplus for 2011 Tahoe Last 4 Vin: 2109 made by Galofaro 2 nd

- Mayor notified Council that the Monday after New Years one well went down.
The parts came on 01/13/2026 and we are working on getting it repaired.
