PUBLIC NOTICE

Body

A public meeting was held at the Village of Tangipahoa City Hall, 12616 Jackson Street, Tangipahoa, LA 70465, on February 10, 2026, at 6:00 pm. Mayor Gray called the meeting to order, and the Municipal Clerk Allicie Briggs established a quorum. Mayor Pro Tem Bean Alderman, Alderman Willis Smith, and Alderman Rodriguez are present. Upon motion by Alderwoman Bean and seconded by Alderman Smith, the minutes for January 13, 2026, Public Meeting are approved. Upon motion by Alderwoman Bean and seconded by Alderman Smith, the motion is carried to approve the Special Meeting Minutes from January 13, 2026. Resolution 2 of 2026 Residential Anti-Displacement and Relocation Assistance Plan is motioned by Alderman Smith and seconded by Alderman Rodriguez. Three yays approve the resolution. Resolution 3 of 2026: Applying for LGAP Funding is motioned by Alderwoman Bean and seconded by Alderman Rodriguez. Three yays approve the resolution. Resolution 4 of 2026 Authorizing Mayor to Request Assistance from Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and Tax Assessor was motioned by Alderman Rodriguez and seconded by Alderwoman Bean. Three yays approve the resolution. Resolution 5 of 2026 Village of Tangipahoa Safety Program Plan is motioned by Alderwoman Bean and seconded by Alderman Smith. Three yays approve the resolution. Upon motion by Alderman Rodriguez and seconded by Alderman Smith, the motion is carried to approve the Service Agreement between the Village of Tangipahoa and Tangipahoa Parish Government Animal Control. Three yays approve the agreement. Mayor Gray requested the board table the introduction of Ordinance 1 of 2026, Establishing a Maximum Speed Limit of Twenty-Five. Upon motion by Alderman Smith and seconded by Alderman Rodriguez, the introduction of the ordinance is tabled until the March 10, 2026, public meeting. There was no public in attendance to comment before the vote on the resolutions and agreements. The Tangipahoa Police Department is absent to give updates. There is no public in attendance for Public Comments. Mayor Gray asked the board to amend the agenda to extend the 90-day moratorium for the placement and relocation of mobile homes and commercial structures. Upon motion by Alderwoman Bean and seconded by Alderman Smith, the motion is carried. Upon motion by Alderman Rodriguez and seconded by Alderman Smith, the board approves the extension of the 90-day moratorium. Mayor Gray informed the board that the Village Clean-up day is April 25, 2026. All the lift stations are running. The board convened in executive session. The board returned from executive session at 7:57 pm. Upon motion by Alderwoman Bean and seconded by Alderman Rodriguez, the meeting is adjourned at 8:00 pm.
