The Village of Montpelier met in Regular session on May 11, 2026, at 7:00 PM
Present: Mayor Kenneth Giardina
Aldermen: Brad Davis, and Kevin Washington
Marshall: Kelly Spinks
Absent: Mike Ard
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kenneth Giardina.
A motion to accept the minutes was made by Brad Davis seconded by Kevin Washington. All yeas.
A motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report was made by Kevin Washington seconded by Brad Davis. All yeas.
A motion to pay the bills was made by Brad Davis seconded by Kevin Washington. All yeas.
Ms. Peggy Stafford and Ms. Newson from the Audubon Regional Library gave a presentation on the new library and the program being offer to the community.
Mr. Tommy Hazelwood from the Tangi Times presented the bid for the upcoming year.
The meeting was open to the public for comment on the ordinance to revise, amend enact, and re-enact ordinance 13 of the code of ordinances of the Village of Montpelier as originally enacted on February 28, 1959 therein and herein and hereby making it a misdemeanor for any person to throw, leave, or deposit on any of the streets or ditches of the Village of Montpelier . Trash, bottles, cans or garbage of any kind such as littering are hereby prohibited proving for penalties for the violation of the said ordinance. No comments.
A motion to adopt the ordinance was made by Brad Davis seconded by Kevin Washington. All yeas.
A Motion to hire Laura Thompson to replace Ashlynne McLin was made by Brad Davis seconded by Kevin Washington. All yeas.
Mayor reminded the Board of Aldermen to file their personal financial disclosure forms due of May 15, 2026.
A motion to adjourn was made by Brad Davis seconded by Kevin Washington. All yeas.
