DECLARATION OF ELECTION RESULTS

Be it known and declared that the Hon. Gerald Sticker (the “Sheriff”), the Sheriff of Tangipahoa Parish and ex-officio Chief Executive Officer of the Law Enforcement District of the Parish of Tangipahoa, State of Louisiana (the “District”), did meet in open and public session to examine the official certified tabulations of votes cast at the special election in the District on Saturday, November 15, 2025, and did examine and canvass the returns of the said election, there having been submitted at said election the following proposition, to wit:

LAW ENFORCEMENT DISTRICT PROPOSITION

(SALES TAX)

Shall the Law Enforcement District of the Parish of Tangipahoa, State of Louisiana (the “District”), be authorized to levy and collect a sales and use tax of 3/4% (the “Tax”) (an estimated $24,975,000 reasonably expected to be collected from the levy of the Tax for an entire year), for a period of 10 years, commencing April 1, 2026, in accordance with Louisiana law, with the proceeds of the Tax (after paying the reasonable and necessary costs and expenses of collecting and administering the Tax) to provide additional funding for the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office to enable the Sheriff to provide continued and expanded law enforcement services to the citizens of Tangipahoa Parish, including, but not limited to, school resource officers, deputy salaries, equipment and training, with the approval and levy of the Tax to cancel all future levies of the 10 mills ad valorem property tax authorized at an election held on November 3, 2020?

There was found by said count and canvass that there was a total of 4,443 votes cast IN FAVOR OF the Proposition and a total of 5,948 votes cast AGAINST the Proposition, as hereinabove set forth, and that there was a majority of 1,505 votes cast AGAINST the Proposition as hereinabove set forth. Therefore, it has been declared by the Sheriff that the proposition as hereinabove set forth was duly DEFEATED by a majority of the votes cast by the qualified electors voting at the said special election held in the District on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Results by precinct are available from the Sheriff during regular business hours or via the Louisiana Secretary of State’s website (voterportal.sos.la.gov). The actual cost of the election as determined by the Louisiana Secretary of State in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 8-A of Title 18 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, as amended, is $48,171.29.
