Monthly Council Meeting Minutes
The Village of Tickfaw Council met in a monthly meeting at 5:00pm on June 09, 2026.
Mayor Lamonte called the meeting to order, Councilman Fedele, Councilman Galofaro,
Councilman Lemay, Chief DiBenedetto were present. Attorney Maurice Trippi was not
in attendance. All present received and reviewed the monthly financial statements. The
invocation was done by Mayor Lamonte followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

- Adam Melendez
• The Planning and Zoning Board presented and recommended
approval for an application Mr. Melendez submitted for a lean-to
addition on his home.
• A motion was made to approve the application by Councilman
Galofaro 2nd: Councilman Lemay Votes: 3 Yeas
6. Public Input-ANYONE WISHING TO ADDRESS ANY ITEM ON THE AGEN-

7. Approve the Monthly Council Meeting Minutes for May 12 ,2026
• Motion to approve made by Councilman Fedele 2nd: Councilman

8. Approve Public Hearing Minutes for May 12, 2026
• Motion to approve made by Councilman Fedele 2nd: Councilman

a) Update on Love’s Truck Stop and Jamie Watson Project
• Attorney Trippi was not in attendance due to auto accident
and the mayor asked to table until the next council meeting

a) Open and award bids for Official Journal
• Two closed bids were received and opened at the council meet-
ing. The Council awarded the bid to The Tangi Times with a
motion made by Councilman Galofaro 2nd: Councilman Fedele
Votes: 3 Yeas
b) Open and award bids for Fiscal Agent
• Motion to re-enter contract with Hancock Whitney Bank made by
Councilman Galofaro 2nd: Councilman Lemay Votes: 3 Yeas
c) Southern Homes – Lauren & Baron
• Motion to table until next council meeting July 14, 2026, at 5pm

d) John Dunning – Speak on possible blighted property across from his
home
• Mr. Dunning voiced complaints of unkept property neighboring
his. He complains about piles of trash, burning things late into
the evenings and vermin that are destroying his property.
• Mayor Lamonte will have the Village Attorney draft a formal letter
that will be certified mail for the property owner to attend the next
council meeting to discuss these issues.
12. Mayor Report
• Mayor Lamonte has been receiving grass maintenance com-
plaints. He states that they are cutting what is possible due to
rainy weather and will maintain the remainder once dry.
13. Police Chief Report
• Nothing to report.
14. Attorney Report
• Not in attendance.
15. Council Response
• Councilman Galofaro: Nothing to report.
• Councilman Fedele: Please address the streetlight on Fedele
Rd. Thanks the Mayor for maintaining grass on side of Fedele
Rd. Also, wanted to remind everyone of the Blessed Mother
Feast on July 4th and July 5th.
• Councilman Lemay: Nothing to report.
