Minutes of the Board of Commissioners of Gravity Drainage District No. 4 of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the regular meeting place, Amite City Hall, Amite, Louisiana.

The Board of Commissioners of Gravity Drainage District No. 4 of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana met on the above date in regular session and was called to order by the President, Mrs. Lori B. Petitto, at 4:30 p.m. o’clock with the following members present:

Present: Lori B. Petitto, Lafete Tucker, Kyle Warren, James C. Ricks, Lionel Sutton

Absent: None

The president called on Mr. Lafete Tucker to voice the invocation and the pledge.

The roll call showed a quorum to be present. Whereupon a motion was made by Mr. Warren duly seconded by Mr. Tucker and unanimously carried that the reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting, dated May 18, 2026, be dispensed with and that they be adopted as of record and published in the official journal.

The secretary presented bills in the amount of $13,687.70 for canal maintenance, material, supplies, contract labor, printing, etc. Whereupon a motion was made by Mr. Tucker duly seconded by Mrs. Petitto and unanimously carried that the payment of the bills be authorized and approved.

The financial report on the general condition of the district was given, and a motion was made by Mr. Warren duly seconded by Mr. Ricks and unanimously carried that the report of the treasurer be approved and accepted.

In attendance: Laura Gray White, Calvin Graham, Dedrick Briggs

Laura Gray White presented the Annual Review Report for the year ending December 31, 2025. Therefore, on motion by Mr. Tucker duly seconded by Mr. Warren and unanimously carried, the board approved and adopted the Annual Review Report for the year ending December 31, 2025, prepared and presented by Laura Gray, CPA Firm.

As per advertised in the official journal and the specified time having arrived, the president opened and read aloud the two bids received for the official journal of the district for the period July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027.

The Hammond Star: $4.00 per square of 100 words on Thursday only

The Tangi Times: $5.00 per square of 100 words on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

On motion by Mr. Tucker duly seconded by Mr. Sutton and unanimously carried, the board agreed that the Tangi Times will remain named as official journal for the district for the period July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027, for publications three times per week opposed to only once per week.

Election of Officers:

On motion by Mr. Ricks duly seconded by Mr. Tucker and unanimously carried, the board agreed that officers of the board remain the same, as follows:

Lori B. Petitto, President

Lafete Tucker, Vice-President

Mary Lynn Thompson, Secretary/Treasurer

Pending jobs and areas of concern that have been reported that need assistance:

Conti Road

Bankston Road (Mr. Ronald Cotton)

Highway 51 in Fluker (Gwynette Dixon)

Calving Graham and Dedrick Briggs were in attendance and made known to the board that a fourth man hired to the work crew would be helpful while waiting for Reginald Muse to return to work (upon receiving paperwork and a work release date from his medical physician). On motion by Mrs. Petitto duly seconded by Mr. Ricks and unanimously carried, the board agreed to hire a fourth man to the contract labor crew. Mr. Calvin Graham suggested the hiring of Arthur Graham, who has worked on the crew before. He will work and assist the crew until the next regular meeting; it will be determined then if he will remain on the crew.

No further business appearing, on motion by Mr. Warren duly seconded by Mr. Sutton and unanimously carried, the board adjourned.
