3. Statement by finalists for the position of Superintendent

4. Questioning of finalists for the position of Superintendent from questions submitted by the public

Following their introductory remarks, each finalist participated in a structured question-and answer

session and responded to the following standardized set of questions:

For students with autism whose physician has prescribed or recommended ABA services,

what is your plan to ensure families can access those services within the school setting?

Specifically, what steps will you take to make the process of obtaining approval and

coordinating with outside ABA providers clear, consistent, and accessible for families?

Currently, this process can be very confusing and difficult for families to navigate. What

specific changes would you support to make accessing medically recommended ABA services

easier and more straightforward?

What do you think about the ESL program, and how will you improve it?

Will there be better quality food for the kids?

What is your vision for supporting teachers who are currently teaching on an uncertified

pathway, particularly those who are actively working toward passing the Praxis and

becoming certified? Will there be resources, mentorship, or additional support available to

help these teachers succeed, and will there be consideration for teachers who are making

consistent progress toward certification when it comes to job security?

What, if any, significant CHANGE do you hope to introduce & implement if you are chosen as

the next superintendent of TPSS?

What are your thoughts on the use of 1:1 chrome books for young children?

What does Tangipahoa Parish mean to you?

(Note: Candidate responses to each question were heard by the Board and public. Recordings and

transcripts of individual responses are maintained in the official district archives.)
