On October 18, 2024, two tragic events occurred. First, the Tigers fell 1-6 after a fatal 56-6 loss to the Kentwood Kangaroos. Then, beloved Independence legend Coach Bags unexpectedly passed away.
The events that took place can do one of two things: make or break the Independence Tigers. It is the Tigers’ homecoming week, and they play Pope John Paul II this Friday, but it’s time to return home.
We’ve experienced wins, losses, celebrations, and frustrations. The tragic details of both aforementioned losses drag people down. However, the Tigers give one thing to the town of Independence, if nothing else, and that’s hope!
