In one of the only two Tangipahoa Round 3 playoff matches, the Kentwood Kangaroos hosted the Southern Lab Kittens under the tank on Friday night. Tension was high in the quarterfinal contest as the players took the field.
To start the game, Kentwood kicked off to Southern Lab, giving the ball to the Kittens offense. After a volley of stalled drives, the Kittens scored the first touchdown of the game. After a failed 2-point conversion attempt, the Kittens took the lead 6-0 in the 1st quarter.
After the kickoff, Kentwood’s quarterback A. Bickham posted a big run to get the Kangaroos offense warmed up. On a chance 4th-down play, a wide-open J. Campbell was left open in the backfield and made a catch to keep the drive going.
