Lady Wave softball’s state championship run continued last weekend, starting Friday night against Live Oak in the semifinal game.
Before the game, Sydni Stanga was recognized as NOLA.com Athlete of the Week. Stanga’s gamewinning grand slam in the quarterfinal game against East Ascension pushed the Lady Wave to the first-ever trip to the state tournament in school history in a 14-12 win.
