Ponchatoula 12U All-Stars traveled to Bossier City this past weekend to participate in the national 2024 DYB World Series. The boys played Arkansas and Mississippi, defeating Arkansas 3-2 and losing to Mississippi by a final score of 6-2.TJ Drake went 2-2 in the win against Arkansas with an RBI.

Jon Sumrall was named Tulane’s 42nd head football coach in December of 2023.Sumrall coached Troy University to a 23-4 record, two Sun Belt Conference championships, and a pair of double- digit winning streaks. He was named Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year.

PHS Freshman Football Tryouts will take place on August 12 and 13 from 3:00 to 4:30 at the PHS football field. Equipment needed will be shorts, shirts, tennis shoes, and cleats. If you have any questions, email head freshman coach Josh Dominguez at joshua.dominguez@tangischools.

Last week, the Southeastern Louisiana University Athletic Department honored two of its own. For one, it was like deja vu all over again. For the other, it was more recognition for a historic season. This dynamic duo will be recognized at the Southeastern Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet in September.

Lady Wave softball head coach Jeremy Harper was recognized during the LHSCA summer clinic for 25 years of coaching in the state of Louisiana. Coach Harper is coming off a spectacular season for the Lady Wave with a 26-8 overall record and finishing as state runners-up.
