PHS Sports Digest

The Green Wave Basketball team finished out the holiday break going 2-1 in the Wade Sims Foundation Invita-tional in Baton Rouge.

SLU Men’s Hoops

Hot shooting, balanced scoring, and double-doubles set the tone, as the Southeastern Lion Basketball closed out 2023 by knocking off Loyola of New Orleans, 87-64. This was the third straight victory for SLU, giving the Green & White a perfect 4-0 in the Pride Roofing University Center.

Lions Football Wrap-up

Six Southeastern Football players ended 2023 on a high note, courtesy of the Louisiana Sports Writers Association, earning All-Louisiana honors. The half-dozen Lions were the most of any of the Pelican State’s six Football Championship Subdivision Universities.

On Friday afternoon, Tulane’s head coach, Jon Sumrall, announced the Green Wave’s seventeen newcomers in the Class of 2024.“I’m pleased with the caliber of the young men who became part of Tulane Football this week,” said head coach Jon Sumrall.

Lady Lions Twice Upended in Hawaii

The Southeastern Lady Lion Basketball team took a two-game road swing into Paradise going into the Christmas Break to participate in the Maui Classic. The first game was daunting, as SLU squared off against PAC12 power, Oregon State.
