What comes to mind when we first think of pigeons? As someone who runs a bird rescue, I’ve heard them referred to as many things, not all favorable. Rats with wings, disease carriers, vermin, and several others. Some have nothing positive to say when it comes to pigeons.

Operation Christmas Child

Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child, a project run by Samaritans Purse, has been collecting shoe boxes full of goodies for children in need.
Students at Ponchatoula Junior High School were recognized as “Prized Pirates” this quarter for being accountable in their school community. Winners received Prized Pirate tshirts, snacks, and a certificate for their efforts in outstanding character.

• The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office confirms three separate fights at Ponchatoula High School, all before 9AM last Tuesday. Sheriff Daniel Edwards says deputies were initially alerted of a fight involving 6 female students at the high school, just before 8AM.

Press Release from Our Daily Bread Hammond, LA – Our Daily Bread Food Bank of Tangipahoa Parish, a Louisiana non-profit organization, announced the finalists to compete in the Feeding Tangi Challenge Grand Championship today.
Belle Oaks Garden Club recently celebrated 45 years, 1978 - 2023, at Murphy’s Seafood Restaurant. Members in attendance, standing from left are Rosemary Tobey, Darlene Breland, Rebecca Eisenman, Debbie Lobell, Rose Doles and Cindy Miguez. Seated from left are Virginia Hawkins, John Grimm, Sandy Grimm, Charlotte Shaw, Vicky Fannaly and Maude Rizzuto.
