Bomb Hoax Causes Panic at PHS

On Friday, September 22, 2023, Ponchatoula High School (PHS) administration learned of a Snapchat post by a PHS student indicating that a grenade had been dropped somewhere inside the school building. They immediately contacted the Ponchatoula Police Department (PPD) for assistance.
The Ponchatoula Times said goodbye to Maya, the unofficial mascot of our video broadcast partner, ALFAB 17, and the best friend of their owner, Tommy Hazlewood. Our hearts are with them both at this sad time of loss. RIP, Maya.
