James “Jim” McCarroll, 83, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, in Hammond, Louisiana. He was born in Berrien, Michigan, on Tuesday, April 16, 1940, to the late John and Genevieve (Bell) McCarroll. Jim was raised in Springfield, Louisiana. On December 29, 2000, he married Betty Rider in Marrero, Louisiana. He was a born fisherman and spent many days on the water with his daughter, Rebecca, and his black lab, Roxie. As an ordained minister, he was passionate about reaching the lost and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jim is survived by his wife, Betty; brother, Jack; daughters, Rebecca (Brandon) and Judy; sons, John “J.R.” and Tim; and four grandchildren, Rain, Audrey, Charlotte, and Benjamin. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Diane.
