Keith Patrick Brantley

On August 27, 2026, the world said goodbye to a genuinely great man when Keith Patrick Brantley passed away, leaving behind a legacy of unmatched kindness and integrity.

Keith was born in Covington, Louisiana, to the late Gladys and Donald Brantley. From September of 1965 onward, Keith was rarely ever seen without a smile on his face.

He was happiest outdoors and could often be found boating, attending concerts and festivals, skiing, surfing, cheering at sporting events, or simply enjoying whatever adventure life had to offer. The only things that could reliably keep Keith indoors were football and the Cowboy Channel. Keith never met a stranger he couldn’t strike up a conversation with, nor an animal he couldn’t stop to pet.

He was a graduate of Lyman Ward Military Academy. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served for two years as a Howitzer driver.

Keith’s life was filled with adventures across California, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Alabama, and beyond. Wherever life took him, he dedicated himself to serving others. He became familiar with hospitals at a young age, inspired in part by his mother, Gladys, who was a nurse anesthetist. His career in the medical field included working as an ER Tech on weekend-night specials before eventually working his way up to Director of Respiratory at St. Charles General Hospital when Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans. Never one to rest on his laurels, Keith went on to work with the Shaw Group following the storm, helping families return to homes in time for the holidays that year.

After more than twenty years in the medical field, Keith decided it was time for a change. He established his own landscaping business, KB Construction & Landscaping LLC. The company became recognizable by its iconic purple logo, a nod to one of New Orleans’ many stores that “ain’t dere no mo,” as well as, of course, his initials. Keith worked on both residential and commercial properties at the helm of his small crew, learning new skills along the way.

After establishing his business, Keith and his family moved to their family property in Tangipahoa Parish. Although he had lived and traveled across the country, he never felt more at home than in Loranger, Louisiana, surrounded by the green pastures he had worked so hard to create and maintain. One of the many “Keithisms” passed down from his grandfather — “The cows don’t know it’s Christmas” — perfectly defined Keith’s well-known work ethic.

Keith was a known animal lover. Many times, he would pause conversations to engage with any animal he came across, be it dogs of clients, birds, elk, cattle, goats, or his personal favorites, cats and horses. He loved all things sports with a soft spot in his heart for football and equine sports. His love of football stems not just from a childhood of playing both offense and defense (and kicker!), but the beginning of his love story with his wife and their many seasons linked to the New Orleans Saints. His adoration for rodeo truly shined in every conversation he mentioned his crowning achievement, his beloved daughter.

Keith is preceded in death by his parents, along with many extended family members, friends, and beloved pets.

He is survived by his loving wife of more than 30 years, Suzette Lampard Brantley; their only daughter, Scarlet Caroline Ashley Brantley; and their soon-to-be son-in-law, Max Mazik. He was an uncle to five nephews, Logan, Owen, Jordan, Hayden, and Bryan, and leaves behind a plethora of extended family and friends across many parts of the world.

He leaves behind not just human family, but a host of animals at their home in Loranger, including three dogs, seven horses, and eighteen feline friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Keith’s life on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001.

In honor of Keith’s memory, his family kindly asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your favorite animal rescue or small family-owned business.

Per LOPA: “One Selfless Act Creates Endless Ripples.” Those planning to attend Keith’s celebration of life are encouraged to wear something **PURPLE** in honor of his legacy and the lasting impact he made on all who knew and loved him.
