Dennis, 84, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023. He was a resident of Amite, LA. Dennis had a Ph.D. in Botany and retired from Southeastern Louisiana University after 28 years as a Professor of Biological Sciences. He enjoyed being in nature and planted trees on his 50 acres. Dennis enjoyed working with his hands as a skilled carpenter and mechanic. He was a family man who was happiest surrounded by his loved ones. Dennis was a great husband, loving father, and loving grandfather. He will be forever missed.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cecelia Brown; sons, Jeff Brown (Anita) and Harrison Brown (Laura); daughters, Anne Kelly, Maile Lalayna Reed (Charles), and Gennipher Kalila Ricks (Wayne); grandchildren, Lauren Gonzalez (Andrew), Tori Kelly, Emma Brown, Sarah Brown, Raelyn Ricks, and Rhys Ricks; and great-grandchildren, Colton Gonzalez, Isaiah Gonzalez, and Levi Gonzalez. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Adelaide and Wendell Brown.
