SHELLY MARIE CYRUS
Shelly, 54, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loving family members on Thursday, November 30, 2023.
everyone she was introduced to. Scrapbooking was her passion, along with other hobbies, including cooking her famous lasagna, baking and decorating everyone’s birthday cakes, and crafting homemade creations. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family and pets, making lasting memories along the way. Shelly was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who is already dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Shelly is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Kerry Cyrus; daughters, Marissa Elizabeth Cyrus and Claire Elise Cyrus; son, Brayden Lawrence Cyrus; mother, Carol Borgstede McGough (Mike); sister, Courtney Mansur (Paul); brother, Gary Borgstede (Becky); sister-in-law, Lori Majeau (Michael); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shelly is preceded in death by her grandparents; dad, Lawrence Borgstede, Jr.; in-laws, Carol and Joseph Cyrus; and infant daughter, Aubrey Anne Cyrus.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the Chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 1190 Hwy 51 North, Ponchatoula, LA, on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will resume on Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 8:00am to 9:00am. A Funeral Mass will begin promptly at 10:00am at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Albany, with interment to follow in Wetmore Cemetery in Ponchatoula.
She was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Hammond. First and foremost, Shelly’s heart in life was caring for others.
