The Tulane Green Wave were swept in a three-game weekend American Athletic Conference baseball series by the South Florida Bulls at USF Baseball Stadium.Tulane’s record is now 17-11 overall and 2-4 in American Athletic Conference play.The Green Wave lost the opening game of the series 3-0 on Friday.

This week’s Campus Corner starts with a vacancy, but it didn’t stay vacant for long. Over the weekend, Lady Lion Head Basketball Coach Ayla Guzzardo resigned to take the same position at McNeese State, leaving the Southland Conference Champions without a leader – for a couple of days at least.

Green Wave Baseball returned to Athletic Park in downtown Ponchatoula for the first time since 2021 after the destruction caused from Hurricane Ida. The boys defeated Lakeshore on Tuesday in an exciting game that ended in a walkoff by a final score of 3-2 for the Wave.

SLU Baseball

Before the start of the season, Southland Conference Sports Information Directors and baseball coaches saw a three-horse race for the SLC crown in 2025. Picked to win it all was Lamar’s Cardinals, with Bobby Barbier’s Southeastern Lions picked second, followed closely by McNeese State.

The Southland Conference- leading Lady Lion softball team looked to rebound from their first SLC loss on the road in Natchitoches over the weekend in the Cypress Trophy series against the Northwestern State Demons.

Ponchatoula’s beloved Athletic Park has been an icon of Ponchatoula High School baseball since 1953. In August of 2021, Hurricane Ida caused significant damage to the facility, rendering it idle and unplayable for almost four years.
