The start of the New Year brought new football news for the Southeastern Lions. After Monday night’s FCS National Championship game, Tuesday saw the release of the final rankings for the 2025 season and the announcement of the 2026 schedule.

A hot start and smothering defense had the Southeastern Lady Lion basketball team thinking upset in the first game of the New Year, but Southland Conference perennial power Stephen F. Austin stormed back in the second half to claim an 87-72 win in the University Center on Saturday.

The Saints March

Last week, our heroes were able to take down a Jet flying over the island and began rebuilding it as an escape vehicle. During the repair process the group needs to find a fresh supply of fuel. They venture down into an abandoned mine looking for an oil deposit.

2025 Tangipahoa Parish Basketball Tournament

Green Wave boys’ basketball finished 2-1 in the tournament by beating Sumner in the first round, losing to a really good Independence team in the second round, and defeating Amite in the third-place game. Will Walker was also named to the All-Tournament team.

Lady Lions Hoops

On the women’s side, Coach Jeff Dow’s Lady Lions rounded out the 2025 home slate in a narrow loss to the Memphis Tigers of the American Conference, 70-66.Early on, both teams scored early and often. SLU held a 20-18 lead after the first quarter.
