PHS Student Awarded Guagliardo

At the Ponchatoula High School Awards Day on Wednesday, May 7, Victoria Kinchen, on behalf of the Guagliardo family, presented the Kitty Guagliardo Memorial Teaching Scholarship to PHS senior Callie Arthur. The scholarship is valued at $4,000.

The family of a missing Amite-area man is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to finding him, living or otherwise. Christopher “Do Man” Brewer, 36, was last seen in March 2020. He is a white male with red hair and green eyes, standing 5’6” and weighing between 140 and 165 lbs.
Brady Muse is a graduate of Oak Forest Academy in Amite. His parents are Brock and Heather Muse. Brady will attend Louisiana Tech University to pursue a degree in Cybersecurity. Upon graduation, his immediate goal is to work for the NSA or FBI, dedicating his skills to defending our nation against cyber threats, both foreign and domestic. He is pictured with his mother, Heather Muse, Chief Deputy Alicia Fussell (left), and Clerk of Court Gary Stanga (right).

Students Receive Scholarships from Clerk oi Court’s Office

The Louisiana Clerks of Court award scholarships to outstanding student children of Clerks’ Employees who will be attending a University of their choice. Applicants must be children of members of the Louisiana Clerk of Court Association.

Motorcycle Deaths Rise while Car and Truck Fatalities Drop

While the overall motor vehicle fatality rate has dropped, the number of motorcyclists killed on Louisiana roads has risen the last few years, according to the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, which announced that May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) has made two more arrests associated with the drug overdose death of a Tickfaw man.Joshua Thompson, 45, has been booked on one count each of 2nd Degree Murder, Distribution of Fentanyl, Conspiracy to Distribute Fentanyl, and Obstruction of Justice.
