Donald David Thibodaux
Donald David Thibodaux age 69, of Ponchatoula, died on Thursday May 14 at his home. Donald was a loving husband to Melanie for over 40 years.
He was born on October 1, 1956, in Houma to Harold & Yvonne Thibodaux, one of 6 children. Donald was predeceased by his parents and brother Clark. He is survived by his brother Robert Thibodaux; sisters, Pam Gauthreaux (Mike), Janet Babin (Mark), and Eileen Pontiff; his grandchild Jasmine Holt; many wonderful nieces and nephews; mother-in-law Caroll Chatellier; and sisterin- law Dorothy Commander.
Donald was a master wood craftsman. He owned and operated The Cajun Craftsman since 2002. Everything he created, whether a fine piece of furniture or a simple fix - was built with love and patience and built to last. Donald would also love to take his pirogue out to many of the bayous on the Northshore to fish the freshwater swamps.
Donald’s body was donated to LSU FACES Laboratory in Baton Rouge. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date in his favorite garden on the Thibodaux estate.
