The Southeastern Louisiana University sports weekend got off to a RUNning start on Friday with both the baseball and softball teams putting up eye-popping scoring totals.

Lady Wave softball was dominant last week, going 5-0.Tuesday at Mandeville-8-2 W Rae’El Wheat drove in four runs with a single and two doubles. Ayeva Nobles also had four hits. Abby Dagro earned the win on the mound, pitching a complete game, giving up two runs on six hits, and striking out eight.

On Friday, the Southeastern Louisiana softball team continued their home stand by welcoming in the Northwestern State Demons in a weekend Southland Conference series at North Oaks Park.

The Southeastern Beach volleyball team was victorious in their home debut, knocking off Spring Hill College, 4-1 on Tuesday afternoon. Each of the four wins came in straight sets and snapped an impressive 6-match winning streak by the visitors.

In the Cards – a Season Opening Victory

Bayou Lacombe opened the 2026 season with a dominating 48-18 win over Gulf Coast Saturday night in Mandeville in Next Level Football Alliance action.Cardinal veteran signal caller Jervious Epherson returned this season, looking in mid-season form, throwing for 5 touchdown passes on the night.

Lady Wave softball played two games last week, losing in a pitcher’s duel against French Settlement and winning in walkoff fashion against Doyle.Monday at French Settlement- 1-0 L The lone run came from a double in the sixth inning for French Settlement.
