Last week, the Hammond Tornado bowling team captured their fourth straight district title, but it didn’t come easy.St. Paul’s led 5 to 3 after 1, only to see HHMS draw even at 8 after the second game. From there, it was all Hammond, as the Tors took 10 out of the next 11 to take the match 18-9.

After an impressive mid-week win over Tulane, the Southeastern Lion Baseball team looked forward to a three-game weekend set with the OTHER SLU, St. Louis University.The Bilikens came to town sporting a mark of 15-1 and winners of seven straight.

A total of a half dozen games saw the Southeastern baseball and softball teams combine for a total of 72 runs and even more important, a 6-0 record.The offensive explosions helped a pair of SLU batters earn honors from the Southland Conference.

The Tulane baseball team won three of the five games it played last week.The week started with Tulane’s first road game of the baseball season on Tuesday when the Green Wave traveled to Thibodaux to take on the Nicholls Colonels. The Green Wave defeated the Colonels 14-12 in a high scoring game.

The Southeastern baseball team continued the pre-conference slate with a series victory over North Dakota State over the weekend. The week started with a 12-2 thrashing of Alcorn St. and a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to LSU.The three-game set with the Bison was scheduled to start on Friday evening.

The Lady Wave Softball team played three games last week, finishing a perfect 3-0.The girls started the week on Tuesday, traveling to Lutcher and starting the game on fire, putting up 6 runs in the second inning. The girls also finished the game off with 3 runs in the 7th inning, securing a 9-5 win.
