A slow start was too much to overcome for the Southeastern Lions in an 80-66 loss to Texas A&MCorpus Christi on Saturday. The setback puts SLU on the outside looking in for one of the top four seeds in next week’s Jersey Mike’s Southland Conference Tournament.

On Monday, a pair of Lion baseball players that helped SLU go 4-1 with a combined score of 5020 were honored by the Southland Conference as the Jersey Mike’s Pitcher and Hitter of the Week, marking the first time this year either award was given to Southeastern baseball player.

Prep Girls’ Hoops Excitement

Travel expenses were at a minimum in the LHSAA Non-Select Division III semifinals when the second-seeded Amite Lady Warriors made the 14-mile trip down I-55 to do battle with the number 3 Doyle Lady Tigers, who traveled 18 miles east to Southeastern’s Pride Roofing University Center.

It’s been an up-and-down season for the Tulane Green Wave so far after seven games early in the 2024 college baseball season.Tulane started the season being blown out by the Northwestern Wildcats out of the Big 10 Conference 9-0. Not only were the Green Wave soundly beaten, they were shut out.
